Deputy Cox was recognized during the 114th Congressional Session by Senator John Boozman. Senator Boozman stated in the second session,

"I rise today to have tribute to the Baxter County Sheriff's Deputy Billy Cox, the actual American Legion Team of Arkansas Police officers Officer of Sullivan county jail inmates .

Mouthpiece Cox has dedicated 13 years for you to Law Enforcement and at this time serves as the Norfork School Resource Police officer. He provides a law enforcement officials presence, but also utilizes his skills and experiences to help college students learn and grow in a safe environment by means of D. A. N. E. and other childhood safety programs. Getting worked as a Paramedic for two decades, he also teaches CPR to high school students.

Referred to as "Officer Billy" for the students and teachers around the Norfork Classes District, Deputy Cox is a positive role model for the scholars. Students rely on the dog to listen to their complications and he is always person and willing to listen. Norfork High School Principal Bobby Hulse says Deputy Cox means a lot to the students and personnel.

His dedication in order to Law Enforcement has acquired Deputy Cox qualifications in drug abuse education and learning and gang battle education. He is a new state-certified Drug Identification Expert.

The North american Legion Department regarding Arkansas Law Enforcement Police officer of the Year Award recognizes Law Enforcement Officers who exceed their particular responsibilities in uniform and show a commitment for you to community service. Deputy Cox was nominated for this award by his supervisor, Lt. Ralph Bird due to huge impact he's had on college students and the citizens within the county.

Deputy Cox is well-deserving of this recognition. His commitment, devotion and determination to Baxter State and Norfork College District are clear every day.
